December 2024 Newsletter

Another year comes to a close and it’s been a whirlwind, that’s for sure! Let’s take a look back at some of our highlights:

In the not so-distant past, November was a month of helping those in need. Nutriment started their campaign to donate a raw meal to a dog in need. Every 10kg of food purchased was a dinner donated, and we raised a total of 90 meals! We are so happy to be able to say we have helped 90 dogs in need of a good, nutritious meal.

October was an exciting month of spookiness and new brands! We finally added Albion to our ever-expanding list of brands, and it has been very well received. October also was the month of celebrating a whole year of Jess joining the team. Saturdays just aren’t the same without her!

September was hectic, who can forget the annual DBARC Charity event? We met a lot of lovely fur friends and watched some very talented fur babies taking part in numerous competitions. The treats were flying off our tables, and we came back substantially lighter! We also had the Buckler’s Lodge Pet Show that we attended, but unfortunately due to bad weather the turnout wasn’t quite what we had hoped. We had a great time though, especially Prim who won the cutest pup award, voted by the lovely residents of Buckler’s Lodge. September was also the month we had a mini makeover! We got a brand-new open sign that we absolutely love, some new window decorations and we also had a little shift around of our freezers so we could add in the Henley Raw freezer.

August was one to remember! Paws in the Park was our most successful event to date, with Marcelle and Meg sitting down for a total of about 10 minutes throughout the day. We saw a lot of familiar faces that popped down to say hello and grab some treats, but we also picked up a few new customers that have become regulars over the past few months.

July was a hot one in the end. The beginning of the month was a bit of a washout, but the last couple of weeks were sweltering. Our freezers struggled through the heat, and luckily our walk-in freezer only had one tantrum! Furry Feasts introduced their new chubbs in July too, and a lot of people enjoyed our special offer on them.

June was a whole year of Meg joining the team! A lot of people, including Meg, couldn’t quite believe it had been a whole year since she started, but we don’t know where we would be without her! We had a lot of brands sell out completely, leaving us worried we wouldn’t be able to keep up with demand, but we muddled through and managed to get everything back in stock in no time.

In May, we put Meg to the test. Marcelle went on a well-deserved trip to South Africa, so Meg was left in charge of admin and the shop. She did surprisingly well, and the shop didn’t burn down, so we know that she’s up to the challenge in future!

In April we went green! Our beautiful van joined our mini fleet (a fleet of 2 vehicles, but a fleet nevertheless!) and we navigated some teething problems regarding how far the electricity would get us for completing orders. It was big step for us and has been lifechanging for the team, especially now we can carry almost triple the amount of stock that we could before, collecting from the factories is now so much easier for us and we don’t have to make 2 trips!

March is one of our favourite months because its Crufts! We had the most amazing time walking around all of the stalls and seeing what new stuff we could bring to the shop. We picked up a few new brands from this, and a newfound love for flyball.

February was one of our quieter months, but we did sell a lot of Prime Raw. This month we also added the Newly Added Products feature to our website, making it a lot easier to navigate and find what you want.

January feels like a distant dream, but it was another busy month for us. Natural Instinct bought out their new Fish flavour that went down a treat. We also got a wider variety of Prime Raw flavours, including what is now a fan favourite, Chicken & Salmon.

So, as you can see, it’s been a very exciting and packed year for us this year. For two months running we have had our highest ever number of sales. The team are ready for another busy month, especially with the Late Night Christmas Shopping event coming up on 6th December. We are hoping to see a lot of our customers in the lead up to Christmas so that we can share some festive cheer and thanks for such a great year. We’re looking forward to a little break over the Christmas period so that we are recharged and ready for a whole new year where we can bring you the same customer service that you all know and love.

On behalf of the entire Raw4pets family, we wish you a Merry Christmas, a Happy and safe New Year and we look forward to serving you again next year.
